Why We're Great:
At TVLA, students can learn at their own pace while still receiving the guidance of certified teachers and academic mentors as well as receiving in person support and tutoring. But Taylor Virtual Learning Academy isn’t just about academics—it’s about helping students grow in all areas of life.TVLA also places a strong focus on social-emotional wellness, offering access to counselors, peer groups, and mental health resources. Life skills, career readiness, and college planning are also built into the curriculum, ensuring every student leaves prepared for the future. Principal’s Message
Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
Thank you for your interest in our unique school! We have a welcoming and dedicated staff at TVLA that are heavily invested in the success of each and every student. TVLA is an asynchronous educational environment; this means that students use a program called Edmentum to complete their courses at any time, anywhere. They will be assigned a mentor teacher that will check in with them weekly and make sure they’re staying on pace. Students at TVLA are considered full time students and are expected to work on their courses 15-20 hours per week, in addition to getting help/tutoring as needed; it is required that students meet with their teacher virtually or in person weekly.
Strong relationships between student and mentor are at the heart of each successful TVLA graduate. The mentor will also ensure that academic honesty is maintained in this virtual environment by checking notes and proctoring exams, either virtually or in person in our learning lab. Students also have the opportunity to use virtual or in person appointments to get help with their courses, either from their mentor, or a specific content area teacher.
We are here to support the whole student, and therefore a full and accurate application packet helps us to not only learn some basic information, but helps the mentor begin to plan for the individual needs of each student.
Warm Regards,
Kelly Trainor
